New Delhi: Swatch, the popular Swiss watch brand, lived up to its reputation by presenting its latest collection in an unusual manner. The Big Classic collection was unveiled at the city’s leading lifestyle mall, Select CityWalk, in the presence of one of the country’s most stylish and elegant men, the renowned film director and writer Imtiaz Ali.
A line designed for classy people with refined tastes and a sure sense of style, Big Classic is everything the name promises: a big, 41 mm diameter watch head offers a wide-open space to show what a classic is all about.
At the special launch event the Swiss brand invited participants to engage in a game of billiards in the atrium of Select CityWalk. Imtiaz Ali then made his entrance, commenting, “I have always admired Swatch watches. They have a watch for every occasion, be it a vacation or a formal affair. The Big Classic surely will be a big hit!” The evening culminated with a photography session as winners of the Swatch billiards competition were photographed together with Imtiaz Ali.
The new collection, with prices from Rs.6750 to Rs.8450, takes up the Swiss brand’s renowned flair for colour, presenting models in black and white, petrol blue, eggshell and silver, with classy Swatch bracelets in stainless steel, a range of leathers in trend-wise colours and a mix of traditional and innovative textures; the leather strap models are fitted with a butterfly buckle.
