RESONANCE OF MOTHER’S MELODY
Kongthong, a remote Khasi village in Meghalaya of the Indian sub-continent is characterised by a unique age-old practice of communication through whistling. It is perhaps the only place in India where people communicate among themselves through whistling and using different tunes to call each other.
After having come to know this, a young researcher went to the place with a group to explore the things. She observed it and had interactions with the villagers, headman and others and finally came out with some interesting facts. The researcher could discover that every child has his/her own special tune given at the time of birth by the mother and at a later stage of growth, a shorter version of that tune is used for communication.
The documentary film starts with the journey of the researcher and goes on with the things of the place and finally ends with various findings of her research.

BIO-FILMOGRAPHY: DIP BHUYAN(Director)
Dip Bhuyan born in Assam ,India graduated from Cotton College, Guwahati and then completed his masters in Statistics from Delhi University in 1991. He made his independent debut with Friends Forever –2002 . Since then he made more than 25 other acclaimed documentaries and a fiction film.
Bhuyan has been rendering his service as a media educator. He is associated with Cotton College, Gauhati University and KK Handique State Open University as a visiting faculty of film making. Under his guidance more than 100 documentaries and ad-films have been made by the media students of Cotton College, the premier educational institute of North-East India.
He was awarded Best Director Award-2013 by the Govt. of Assam. His two films entered in Indian Panorama of IFFI , Goa in 2010 and 2013 , three film screened in MIFF, nominated one film for CMS VATAVARAN ,two films won IDPA awards and screened at many other international film festivals.
