Priyanka Chopra ‘s double whammy night at the Stardust Awards

Having received unprecedented applause for her performance as an autistic young girl in Anurag Basu’s Barfi! , the versatile Priyanka Chopra took home 2 Stardust Awards for Best Actress (Drama) which she shared with Sri Devi for English Vinglish and Star of the Year (Female) on the star studded evening.

The heart-wrenching love story between a deaf-and-mute boy and an autistic girl,also won Priyanka a Lions Gold Award for “Best Actress”, “Best Actress” – Popular Choice at the Screen Awards, Zee Cine Awards “Best Actress” and the Bollywood Hungama Sufers Choice Award.

Says Priyanka Chopra , “This film was a labour of love for all of us and to see it receive such amazing success is so gratifying. This has been the toughest character of my life and to see everyone loving Jhilmil is such a dream come true. I am thrilled to be a part of such a wonderful team who made this happen”.

The actress is also on cloud 9 with her first international single “In My City” feat Will.I.Am ,which sees its launch today amidst a packed house of fans,all rooting for the actress-singer.
