‘MAHARASHTRA KI ASLI PEHCHAAN’ INITIATIVE
SALUTES THE EVERLASTING SPIRIT AND VALUES OF A TRUE MAHARASHTRIAN
ACTOR SACHIN PILGAONKAR AND DAUGHTER SHRIYA FELICITATE 3 STRONG-WILLED LISTENERS; LAUNCH FIRST-LOOK OF THEIR UPCOMING MARATHI FILM ‘EKULTI EK’
92.7 BIG FM Mumbai, today celebrated Maharashtra Day through a special initiative called ‘Maharashtra Ki Asli Pehchaan’ which celebrates and salutes the spirit and values showcased by a ‘True Maharashtrian’. Honouring values like honesty, simplicity, respect for women, urge to serve and the love for all things Marathi, 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai felicitated 3 listeners who were nominated for their contribution towards the betterment of the society. A Certificate of Recognition was presented to these strong-willed listeners by acclaimed Bollywood and Marathi film and theatre personality, Sachin Pilgaonkar who, along with his daughter Shriya, also revealed the first-look of their upcoming Marathi film ‘Ekulti Ek’.
‘Maharashtra Ki Asli Pehchaan’ is a first-of-its-kind initiative undertaken by 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai to acknowledge the common man’s values that make him a true hero. The three listeners who were felicitated as a part of the initiative are:
Ø Sandeep Desai: A 52-year-old Professor, Sandeep Desai is a familiar face on Mumbai’s local trains where he begs to raise money to fund English medium schools for underprivileged children in rural Maharashtra and Rajasthan. Over the past two year, he has collected more than Rs.50 lakh that currently funds 4 schools, with a fifth one due to open next month in the Ratnagiri district of Mahashtra. 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai acknowledged his effort and awarded his values of simplicity and patience.
Ø Sunil Yadav: 33-year-old Sunil Yadav has been working with BMC as a conservancy worker and has recently enrolled for TISS’s Globalization and Labour Master’s Program. After several unsuccessful attempts to get study leave from the BMC for over year, Sunil’s determination along with intervention from higher officials including the Prime Minister’s Office has won him his due that promises him and his family a better future. 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai awarded his values of patience and honesty.
Ø Prema Jayakumar: 24-year-old Prema Jayakumar is the daughter of a Mumbai-based autorickshow driver who has topped the All-India Chartered Accountancy Examination results for which were declared recently. Living in a crammed chawl, she did not let space and comfort come in the way of education and a bright future. 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai awarded her values of simplicity, respect and family.
Along with the felicitation of the three 92.7 BIG FM Mumbai listeners, the grand Maharashtra Day celebrations also witness the unveiling of the first look of actor Sachin Pilgaonkar’s upcoming Marathi film ‘Ekulti Ek’. Also featuring his daughter Shriya in a lead role, the movie speaks of a father-daughter relationship and highlights the value of family and togetherness. Interestingly, through ‘Ekulti Ek’, veteran actor Sachin Pilgaonkar is also celebrating his Golden Jubilee on being part of the Indian film industry.
