92.7 BIG FM, India’s No. 1 FM radio network and winner of the Golden Mikes Broadcaster of the Year award has entered its fifth edition of the BIG Green Ganesha Campaign (BBGC), an initiative focused on fostering a sense of responsibility toward a better environment and celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi in an eco-friendly manner. The campaign was launched earlier this year with the compelling motto ‘Ganpati Bappa Morya Dharti Mata Morya’ a call for blessings by both Ganesha as well as Mother Earth. This noble cause has managed to strike a chord with several influential members of society including a number of celebrities who have lent their support toward the crusade by donating newspapers and leading by example.
At a press meet held at the 92.7 BIG FM studios to officially unveil the BIG Green Ganesha Campaign today Vivek Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat, cast members of the upcoming romantic comedy film ‘Kismat Love Paisa Dilli’ attended the event to show their support towards the endeavour. The actors were further seen endorsing the cause of celebrating a clean and eco-friendly Ganesh festival as they shared their favourite Ganesh Chaturthi memories. To add to the pleasant memories, Vivek and Mallika were also presented Ganesha idols as blessings for their upcoming movie.
The BIG Green Ganesha campaign has been fashioned to address the overwhelming threat this festival poses to the environment in the form of idols that are created from non-biodegradable material and highly toxic paint. With the campaign message ‘Bappa ka Pariyavaran Bachao, Life Banao’, over the past four years, the BGGC drive has garnered large public attention and community support, inculcating a sense of responsibility among people as well as delivering significant value to partners.
