RJ ‘RAPID’ RASHMI TO BE THE OFFICIAL MASCOT OF RUN IN BANGALORE

 92.7 BIG FM BANGALORE TO DRIVE REGISTRATIONS AND PARTICIPATION THROUGH A COMBINATION OF ON-AIR AND ON-GROUND INITIATIVES

Bangalore,  92.7 BIG FM, India’s No.1 FM radio network and winner of the Golden Mikes Broadcaster of the Year Award, today announced its association with ‘Pinkathon – Run to Lead’, a 10km run for women in Bangalore with an aim to spread awareness on breast cancer. The multi-category running event is being organized by Maximus Events and will be led by avid runner and fitness enthusiast Milind Soman. The run which will be held in Bangalore on 7th April 2013, has already won support from the most successful women in the city including actress Priyanka Upendra, social activist Deveika Bhojwani and business icon Kiran Mazumder Shaw. 92.7 BIG FM Bangalore’s RJ ‘Rapid’ Rashmi will be seen as the Official Mascot of the run and will receive special training from Milind Soman.

As Bangalore’s No. 1 FM radio network and the only 100% Kannada station with a cumulative reach of almost 26 lakh listeners, 92.7 BIG FM will drive registrations and participation for Pinkathon through a combination of on-air and on-ground initiatives. Through this intensive 40-day engagement campaign involving various touchpoints such as women’s associations, IT parks, college campuses, malls, etc., 92.7 BIG FM Bangalore aims to create awareness regarding the symptoms and prevention steps to combat breast cancer. The radio network will also promote Pinkathon extensively across social media platforms by sharing expert health tips, messages and day-to-day updates on RJ ‘Rapid’ Rashmi’s progress and experience during her training sessions with Milind Soman.

The ‘Pinkathon – Run to Lead’ run will be held in Bangalore on 7th April 2013 and will start from Sree Kanteerava Stadium. It will be the second of the planned 10-city series across India.
