92.7 BIG FM BECOMES THE SUPPORTING PARTNER FOR THE DELHI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2012

DELHI’S NO 1 FM RADIO NETWORK & THE DELHI INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL TO SHOWCASE THE BEST OF INDIAN & WORLD CINEMA

 

New Delhi,   Sharing its passion for cinematic excellence, 92.7 BIG FM India’s No.1 radio network and broadcaster of the year at the Golden Mikes Awards today announced their collaboration as the Supporting Partner of the Delhi International Film Festival (DIFF) which will host the city’s first ever International Film Festival, which is scheduled to run for a week at the Siri Fort Auditorium and NDMC Convention Centre from December 21st -27th 2012.

In celebrating the occasion of 100 years of Delhi being the capital of the country and the 100 years on Indian cinema, 92.7 BIG FM Delhi & DIFF have positioned this initiative as Delhi’s first  true international film festival that aims at putting the city on map of the international film fraternity. With the objective of bringing together the best films and filmmakers from around the world and showcase them to audiences in the Capital, DIFF and 92.7 BIG FM aim to transform the way people see the world through the medium of films.

As the supporting partner, 92.7 BIG FM will offer a wide variety of programming that allows exclusive broadcast of the Delhi International Film Festival 2012 and promote the gala festival at various malls and cultural centres in the Capital. 92.7 BIG FM will interview and host chat shows with filmmakers, actors & celebrities. Further to this they would interact with audiences and get their inputs on films and its connection to contemporary culture.

The initiative will not only put Delhi on the map for International film festivals, but also add another dimension to the city as an emerging quality film exhibition city, by attracting films and the film fraternity from all corners of the world.

The first edition of DIFF, will honour the films, film makers, artists and writers along with those outstanding persons who contributed towards the welfare of society and the people through the medium of cinema, with Minar-e-Dilli award.

The Delhi International Film Festival 2012 will showcase films in ten different sections. The best amongst selected films shall be honoured with the Golden Minar and Silver Minar awards.

Speaking at the official launch of the festival in Delhi, noted Hindi film directory Tigmanshu Dhulia & actor Shiney Ahuja commended 92.7 BIG FM Delhi’s support and encouragement for this initiative and expressed their firm belief in the festival becoming a grand success and providing a novel & artistic platform for film actors and makers, not just in India but across the world
