the IIFA World PremiereGreen Carpet on June 7th ~

The 13th Videocon International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) in partnershipwith PVR Cinemas todayannounced the premiere of Dibakar Banerjee’s upcoming release ‘Shanghai’ for the IIFA World Premiere. The moviewill premiere at the IIFAs June 7th at LidoCinemas, Shaw Theatre, Singapore aday before its worldwide release.Produced by PVR Pictures, ‘Shanghai’,a political-thriller, is one of Bollywood’s most-awaited releases of 2012starring Abhay Deol, EmraanHashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Prosenjit Chatterjee.

Taking Indian Cinema to glorious pinnacles beyond national shores theInternational Indian Film Academy (IIFA) has previously been held in Europe,the Middle East, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Canada. This year, the 13th VideoconIIFA Weekend and Awards will be held in Singapore from June 7th – 9th, 2012.

Previous films premiered at the IIFAs overthe years include, Aamir Khan’s Lagaan,Aankhen, Parineeta, Provoked, Train and Yuva. “The concept of ‘Shanghai’ appealed to me and I am truly looking forwardto the release of the film. IIFA’s journey over the last 12 years has openedmany doors for the Indian film industry and we feel fortunate that our filmwill enter that elite list and will be screened at the IIFA World Premiere.” said actor, Emraan Hashmi.
